Formfacade Review 2026: What It Does, What It Costs, and What to Use Instead

9 min read

Formfacade is a set of paid Google Forms add-ons that restyle your form, embed it on your website, and bolt on file uploads, quiz scoring and email notifications. It works, and it is expensive, because those are five separate subscriptions with five separate response caps. If you want the same jobs done under one bill, the alternative we’d pick is TakumiForm, our own Google Forms add-on: one plan in three sizes, every feature in every size, from $9/mo billed annually. Prices on both sides re-checked 13 September 2026.

We make TakumiForm, so read this the way you’d read any review written by a competitor. What we can do is take every Formfacade number straight from Formfacade’s own pricing pages, link them so you can check, and date the claim. That’s the whole deal.

What is Formfacade?

Formfacade is a Google Workspace add-on. You install it on a Google Form you already own, and it gives you a second, prettier version of that form hosted on Formfacade’s domain (or embedded on yours). Your questions stay in Google Forms. Your responses still land in the same Google Sheet. Nothing about your existing form is replaced, which is the reason people pick a Google Forms add-on over moving to Typeform or Jotform in the first place.

The catch is that “Formfacade” isn’t one product. It’s a family, and customizing a form and embedding it are two different subscriptions:

There’s also Formesign for e-signatures and Neartail for order forms, sold as their own brands. Each one is a separate sign-up and a separate line on your card.

What does Formfacade cost in 2026?

Here’s every add-on, from its own pricing page, re-checked 13 September 2026. Three tiers each: Basic, Premium, Business.

Add-onMonthlyBilled annuallyResponses / monthForms / storage
Customize UI$16 / $36 / $76$8 / $18 / $3850 / 100 / 3003 / 5 / 15
Embed in website$36 / $76 / $116$18 / $38 / $58100 / 300 / 500
File upload$56 / $76 / $196$28 / $38 / $98100 / 200 / 40010 GB / 100 GB / 1 TB storage
Assign points$76 / $116 / $196$38 / $58 / $98100 / 200 / 3005 / 10 / 15
Email notification$16 / $36 / $76$8 / $18 / $3850 / 100 / 3003 / 5 / 15

Then there’s the bundle, which is where everything is sold together: Startup at $196/mo ($98/mo annual) for 500 responses and 1 user, Growth at $420/mo for 2,500 responses and 5 users, Enterprise on a quote.

So the real answer to “what does Formfacade cost” depends entirely on how many of the five you need. One feature on a quiet form is cheap. Embedding plus file upload is $92/mo. Add quiz scoring and it’s $168/mo. Everything-in-one-plan starts at $196/mo.

Verdict on pricing: Formfacade is competitive if you need exactly one add-on and nothing else, and only its cheaper ones. The moment you need two, TakumiForm’s $19/mo Starter is doing the same work for a fraction of the price.

Is there a Formfacade free plan?

No. Formfacade is a paid product with a 7-day free trial, and the trial covers your first 20 responses. Every pricing page says the same thing. If you find a blog post promising a Formfacade free tier, it’s out of date.

Worth knowing: Formfacade branding is listed as included on every tier, embed and email notification alike, all the way up to Business. You’re paying $76/mo at the top of the embed plan and the form still carries their name.

TakumiForm doesn’t have a free plan either, and we’re not going to pretend otherwise. What it has is a 7-day trial that takes no credit card and runs at Pro-level caps: 1,000 responses rather than 20, with 2 GB of file storage. The branding toggle is on every plan including the trial. If the branding is the thing bothering you, that difference is the whole post.

Verdict: neither is free. TakumiForm’s trial is the more useful one, because you can actually run a real launch through it and turn the branding off while you do.

Where the money actually goes

The sticker price isn’t the part that catches people. The caps are.

Every Formfacade subscription carries its own monthly response cap, and those caps count across all your forms, not per form. The cheapest embed plan is 100 responses a month for your whole account, and the cheapest Customize UI plan is 50. Buy embed and file upload together and you don’t get one pool of responses, you get two separate ones, each capped, each resetting on its own calendar month.

So a busy week doesn’t just cost you money, it costs you the rest of the month.

TakumiForm counts one rolling 30-day window across the account, so there’s no reset date to wait for. Capacity comes back on its own as old submissions age out.

What Formfacade does well

Three things, honestly:

  1. It’s been shipping for years and the customize editor is deep. Conditional branching, answer piping, prefill, a raw CSS box for people who want one.
  2. Email notifications are a real product with conditional sending, PDF attachments and collaborator routing. We don’t have that.
  3. The ecosystem is wide. Sheets Lookup, e-signature via Formesign, order forms via Neartail. If you need one of those specific things, they exist and we don’t have them.

Formfacade alternative: what we’d use instead

TakumiForm is one plan in three sizes. The sizes differ by volume only.

Verdict: for the common case, a Google Form that needs to look like your brand, live on your site, take a file, and not advertise somebody else, TakumiForm is the one to pick. It’s one subscription instead of two or three, the branding comes off at every price, and the response pool is shared instead of siloed. The head-to-head comparison goes through the arithmetic tier by tier.

Where Formfacade is still the better pick

This part is real, not a throat-clear.

Pick Formfacade if you need email notifications on submit. We haven’t built that, and their version is genuinely full-featured. Pick it if you need e-signatures or Sheets Lookup, which we don’t have at any price. Pick it if you want one add-on only, forever, on a low-traffic form: $8/mo billed annually for embed is the cheapest single line anywhere in this comparison, and nothing we sell beats it.

And if you’re already deep into their bundle with five seats and a workflow built around it, switching to save money you’ve already spent isn’t a good trade.

Switching from Formfacade to TakumiForm

There’s no export and no migration. Your form never left Google.

Sign in with Google, pick the form you already have, and style it. Your questions, your Sheet, your existing responses all stay where they are. If you decide against it, you turn the TakumiForm-hosted version off and your plain Google Form is still sitting there working. The embed guide walks through putting it on your site.

The trial is 7 days, no card.

Frequently asked questions

What is Formfacade? Formfacade is a paid Google Forms add-on that customizes and embeds your form, sold as five separate subscriptions (customize, embed, file upload, quiz scoring, email notification) plus a bundle. If you want those same jobs in one subscription, TakumiForm is the alternative to look at.

Is Formfacade free? No. It’s a paid product with a 7-day trial covering your first 20 responses, and Formfacade branding is listed as included on every paid tier. TakumiForm also has no free plan, but its 7-day trial takes no card, runs at Pro caps (1,000 responses, 2 GB of storage), and lets you turn branding off.

How much does Formfacade cost per month? From $16/mo ($8 billed annually) for Customize UI alone, or $36/mo for the Embed add-on, up to $196/mo for the top file-upload tier. Embedding plus file upload is $92/mo and adding quiz scoring takes it to $168/mo. The all-in-one bundle starts at $196/mo. TakumiForm includes all of it from $19/mo, or $9/mo billed annually.

What is the best Formfacade alternative? TakumiForm, a Google Forms add-on that includes customize, embed, file upload without Google sign-in, redirect after submit and quiz scoring in a single plan from $19/mo, with branding off at every tier. Formfacade vs TakumiForm has the full breakdown.

Can I remove Formfacade branding? Their pricing pages list Formfacade branding as part of every tier, on both the embed and email notification plans. Hiding vendor branding is included on every TakumiForm plan and during the trial.

Do I lose my Google Form if I switch? No. Both products sit on top of a Google Form you own. Your questions stay in Google Forms, responses keep landing in the same Sheet, and turning either add-on off leaves the original form working.

Does Formfacade have a response limit? Yes, per subscription and per calendar month, counted across every form on the account. The cheapest Embed tier is 100 a month and its Business tier is 500; Customize UI runs 50 to 300, and the other add-ons top out between 300 and 400. TakumiForm uses one rolling 30-day pool shared across your account, from 1,000 responses on Starter to 100,000 on Business.

The short of it

Formfacade is a capable product with a pricing model built for a company that only ever needs one thing. Most people need two, and that’s where the maths stops working.
